Located in the Southern regions of Portugal the Algarve is an increasingly popular tourist destination for all sorts of travellers. For travellers that are looking to learn more about the history and culture of the Algarve as opposed to what drinks are on offer, a trip to the capital, Faro, may be of more interest. The ‘old’ town of the area has much history embedded in it with a number of museums, cathedrals and historical points of interest all available for tourists to visit and learn more about the Algarve and its past. The area also has a lot to accommodate families of all sizes, although if travelling with children chilling out down by the beach may be the easiest option and why not with a number of beautiful, golden beaches to choose from with many having various water sports, activities and bars located around them.
